Mike Arnone

I'm a technological solution provider that enjoys automating processes, solving problems and helping businesses gain a competitive advantage among their peers.I've been in the IT industry for most of my life and have a broad scope of experience and stories to tell.

Work

I believe that technology is more than slide presentations and social media, and that we should be able to bend it to our will to accomplish our goals.I design IT solutions for business to give competitive advantage using my knowledge of programming, DevOps and sense of ownership toward making things work better!

Here are some of my technological conquests:

  • Wrote my own content management system in PHP as my college passion project to team-enable publishing the school newspaper... it's like I had never heard of <name a popular CMS here>, but saved the newspaper oodles of time -- and learned alot!

  • For one company, I wrote an internal tool in PHP Laravel framework that transformed info from our data warehouse to a specific format that a client would accept, saving the operator 24 man-hours of work, per unit -- and got our product listed faster than competitors.

  • Made a friendly cross platform app that streamlined new user onboarding, taking the heat off of the helpdesk, it even added printers!

  • Built out an OS imaging process from scratch and spare parts to create a industrialized work-from-home equipment pipleine during the recent work-from-home apocalypse, complete with drip e-mail campaign to alert users and managers of shipped equipment and literature for first-time use.

  • Devised an app on the Microsoft 365 Platform that enabled IT reps to connect with online data warehouse and rapidly process returned equipment using personal cell phones as QR code scanners. Scanned devices automatically matched to online inventory. Freed IT workers from nightmare of spreadsheets, manual (often missed) communication and idle remote administration licenses. Stakeholders enjoy automated reporting, especially security!

  • Designed and built middleware in Python to allow obscure systems to communicate with eachother and present the data to users in one environment... it's like I'd never heard of cloud automation platforms!

  • Set up application and server monitoring for a customer that was tired of surprises. Created a dashboard and notifications for when something goes down so we can be proactive. Intergrated results of data backup jobs into the dashboard so we did not have to rely on the backup system e-mails for awareness.

  • Used a well-known digital voice api company's product to create a custom helpdesk phone branch so when customers called about a particular problem, they would be forwarded to this branch which 'obtained' the necessary troubleshooting information before allowing them to talk to a human, saving helpdesk staff from having to learn a lengthly quiz sheet and standardizing triage.

... and more!

Sorry, unless it is the 'view' layer for an internal tool, I do not do websites.
